The School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) is a 5-year program open to all Year 6 primary school students who are looking to gain the upper hand over their peers in terms of the development of their critical skills and command of leadership competencies.
SLDP is the first track of leadership development track in Axiata Young Talent Programme (AYTP).
The program which incorporates the AYTP curriculum – in the form of experiential workshops, community projects, online learning, personal reflection, coaching, and mentoring – is designed to complement academics.
About Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS)
A private, fully residential school founded in 1995, Kolej Yayasan Saad (KYS) marked as a “Centre of Excellence”, prides itself for producing straight-A students for both Pentaksiran Tingkatan 3 (PT3) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations year after year. KYS conducts a yearly selection process that consists of aptitude tests, interviews, and presentations to ensure an exclusive selection of only the best performing students in Malaysia.
The School Leadership Development Programme (SLDP) scholarship (Full/Partial)* will cover five years of secondary school education, subject to Axiata Foundation’s terms and conditions. The coverage includes school fees, text books, school uniforms, and a laptop**. A non-curriculum fund will also be provided to encourage student participation in school based extra-curricular activities.
In addition to the school related fees, Axiata Foundation will also bear the full cost of SLDP initiatives.
*Full/Partial scholarship is subject to eligibility and household income.

Criteria: Who Can Apply
- *Malaysian citizenship or Permanent Resident
*Children of employees of Axiata Group Berhad and any of its subsidiaries are not eligible to apply.
- **Minimum 4As 2Bs in Ujian Percubaan Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) trial examinations
** To apply, students must have at least 6As or 5As 1B or 4As 2Bs (Core Subjects: Bahasa Malaysia, English, Mathematics, and Science) in the recent 2017 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) trial examinations.
- Oustanding achievements in extra-curricular activities
Priority will be given to applicants from low-income and suburban families.
The application must be submitted online on Axiata Foundation website. Submission through non-Axiata Foundation website is not valid.
The Selection Process
Step 1: Online Application
Screening and shortlisting by Axiata Foundation based on internal selection criteria.
Step 2: Entrance Exam
Administered by KYS and to be shortlisted by Axiata Foundation based on internal selection criteria.
Step 3: Residence Based Assessment
Selection camp administered by KYS and to be shortlisted by Axiata Foundation based on internal selection criteria.
Step 4: Scholarships Offer
The final offering is within the discretion of Axiata Foundation.
