We have enjoyed sharing our knowledge with you and hope to continue doing so. However, we also realize that it is equally important to have others share their knowledge and experience with everyone as well.

To achieve this together, we love to invite your participation and help to provide our valued readers with quality articles and interesting insights!

Regardless of the reason you want to write for us, we are looking for all sorts of articles, we welcome you to submit your work. It could be funny, angry, touching, inspirational, informative, weird, pretty, ugly, scandalous, gossipy, or anything that you are passionate about.

We are looking for those of you who want to help others with your expertise.

And if you are new in submitting your articles a magazine, no worries! We would be more than happy to provide you your first platform as every expert or established writers have to start somewhere.

We want to affiliate ourselves with passionate people who enjoy writing about interesting topics, and be part of a growing team and site.

To facilitate this, we are looking for high quality, original articles (never been publicly published) that contain “how to” tips, reviews and viral videos that reveal how Malaysian students can get enrolled in a university overseas, make the most of their opportunity there, get jobs or start businesses overseas or in Malaysia and to a lesser degree, information on hot trends in Malaysia that would keep the younger generation of Malaysia informed and educated with great materials.

In order to write for us, you must be able to clearly demonstrate your expertise in the subject matter by providing us with links to related content for us to evaluate your writing style, content, and experience.


How does it work, what are the steps to get published?

First, submit a pre-application with the form at the bottom of this page.

Second, if you are pre-approved by our editorial team, you will need to submit a few articles that cater to the audience of our magazine.

Lastly, once you are approved as a regular writer on MalaysianStudent.com you will be given a team editor who works directly with you to help you with the process.

You will need to provide the titles as well as a brief summary, to better explain your topic of choice.

Your team editor will be responsible for approving your ideas.

Once your ideas are approved, you may begin writing.

How many articles do I need to write?

We are looking for committed writers who will work with us long term and will want to grow with the site. We need writers who can consistently provide a minimum quota of quality articles a month.

Are there a minimum number of words?

We are looking for good articles that go in depth about the chosen subject. We believe that a minimum of 750 words is needed to make for an interesting article. There are some exceptions but this can be discussed with your team editor.

Format of Your Submission?

We prefer .txt or .doc for your writing and .jpeg or .png files for the pictures that goes along with your article. You can either submit it via the form below or you can email it directly to our editorial team at editorial.team@malaysianstudent.com

I have submitted my application but I haven’t got any responses yet?

We receive hundreds of submissions on the daily basis. Please be patient to wait for us to respond to your email/application.
Our team will do our best to respond your email within one week period.



What can I write about?

Before applying to become a writer, you should familiarize yourself with the articles on our website. We are MalaysianStudent.com and we help students make a smooth transition to higher education overseas, stay abreast of changes of the world.

We want articles that are relevant to Malaysian Students and that fit under one of our current categories: Landing Your Dream Job, Money Management, Traveling Local/Overseas, Study Abroad, Scholarships, Student Loan,  Shopping Tips, Entertainment, Fashion & Style, Dating & Relationships, Health & Fitness, For Parents, Motivational Articles, and etc.

How much will I get paid?


This is what everybody wants to know, so here it is you will get paid for every article that gets approved by our editorial team after your first 10 approved articles. The rate is

>10 approved articles: USD 10 or RM39/article

>50 approved articles: USD 50 or RM195/article

>120 approved articles: TBA

Every paid contributor will have their own dedicated writer’s profile page in MalaysianStudent.com to interact with our readers from all over the world.

How often do I get paid?

The payments will be sent out via Paypal on the 1st and 15th of every month.

Are there any bonuses based on performance?

Currently no, although we are working on an incentive for all writers that will be working for MalaysianStudent.com.

Only “premium” articles will be eligible hence why we favor and approve articles with a lot of high-quality substance!

How many people will view my work?

We are aiming for at least 10,000 VIEWS/MONTH by 31 July 2015. To achieve that, we need your contribution to share your stories and to invite more of your friends to visit MalaysianStudent.com.

Will I get Credited for the articles I provide?

Yes, any published content that you have provided will be credited to you (name of the author, your blog link, social media pages, etc).

Do I need to always write about top 10 articles?

We definitely do have a preference for lists however it can vary from Top 5 (Top 5 Movies That Attracted Malaysian Students to Study in the USA), Top 8 (8 No-BS Habits That Will Change Your Life), Top 45 (45 Must Watch Movies by Malaysians in 2016) and even Top 100 (100 Incredible Views That You Have to Experience Before You Die) if you are ambitious enough.

Otherwise, we are also opened to other types of articles that are not list based (i.e. Why?Why?Why?, Decide Your Pain To Make Your Gain,  Create Your Own Vision, etc.) as long as the topic suits the style and vision of the website.

Once again, it will come down to the final approval by our editorial team.

So, what is the bottom line?

You gain audience for your opinion/personal blog/business/social media page to the largest audience of Malaysian students globally!

You are getting paid while getting noticed!
